Word on the street is that the next Grand Theft Auto title will make use of the “Rockstar Advanced Game Engine,” otherwise known as RAGE. The only other title to implement the system thus far has been Rockstar’s Table Tennis. Does this mean we’ll see ping-pong car-crash physics in GTA?

Not necessarily. Table Tennis was lauded for its stunning, sweat-drenched character models with real-time facial expressions, along with the accurate sense of weight and physics the visuals seemed to capture (take a look at screenshots of the game here), and some of these core components could certainly be transferred over. In that case, RAGE could mean we’ll see a greater emphasis on physics and character expressions in GTA IV (though hopefully not as much perspiration, ugh).

Prior-gen iterations in the series were developed with an engine called Renderware, now EA-owned technology that made an apperance in games like Black, Tony Hawk’s Underground, Burnout: Revenge, and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. But to be clear, because the RAGE middleware was designed specifically for “next-gen systems,” and not for Table Tennis alone, the engine may have other functionalities that Table Tennis didn’t reveal in full.

We’ll keep our ears tuned to the street, as Grand Theft Auto IV is said to be releasing on October 16, 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

NEW YORK (AFP) - For a comic book hero, it’s the ultimate taboo.

In the latest edition of the Marvel comic “Civil War” on sale, Spiderman does the unthinkable and removes his Spidey mask to publicly reveal his hidden identity.

“I’m proud of who I am, and I’m here right now to prove it,” the legendary webslinger tells a press conference called in New York’s Times Square, before pulling off his mask and standing before the massed ranks of reporters as newspaper photographer Peter Parker.

“Any questions?” Parker asks in the final panel of the issue, amid a barrage of camera flashes.

In a statement, Marvel trumpeted the revelation as “arguably the most shocking event in comic book history.”

Digg already soared past Slashdot as the most influential tech-centered news portal. The “Digg effect” can bring down the servers of sites linked from the homepage and drive a frenzy of blogging and news coverage — or spread rumors like nobody’s business. That’s why Yahoo reportedly offered $40 million for the company (to which founder Kevin Rose says, “I wish!”)

But Digg is destined for bigger things than tech news. The above screenshot of Digg version 3 (not showing? wait for it), leaked from a beta tester a week before its launch, reveals categories for “Business” and “World News.” This should give Digg a leg up on AOL’s rumored general-interest Digg killer.

The tipster says, “I’ve counted 25+ new topics in this build of the beta, and there is a new design top-to-bottom.”

I made a video showing the new PSP browser (well it was new then) cause I had the guts to download the japanese firmware to my american PSP (Ooooooo!) The video was basically me in a towel right before I was about to go to a baseball game holding my crappy webcam up to the psp showing people the browser.

I guess it was nice for the people who wanted to know about the psp browser but making the video for me was just lame. If I ever make a video on Leer’s Info Booth again I pray it wont be as bad (ok it must have been somewhat good to go on kotaku).

I need a DV cam. :)

  • It installs picasa 2 to your machine and then starts searching the hard drive for pictures.
  • You get almost 3gb for email but only 250 mb for images and pictures
  • What ever happened to Gdrive!?
  • So basically you log in to your gmail account and set up a album and start adding photos to it. really simple.
  • Web Albums are of decent quality, check out mine.

Its preety good. Good to see google jumping into images and pictures. But I think ill stick with flickr.
